Volkswagen Taos Trim Levels
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos offers three trim levels for drivers near Rancho Santa Margarita and Garden Grove, California. Each one will come with an array of features that build as you move up to a higher level, so you’ll want to see what each one offers before choosing.
This review of the VW Taos trim levels will go through each one and outline some upgrades that are available. If you see a level that has the combination of features you want to drive with, our team at Norm Reeves Volkswagen Superstore Irvine will assist you in securing that exact version. Check out our article below to learn more!
VW Taos S
The base trim level of the VW Taos is the S. It comes with the standard engine that you’ll find on all levels: a turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces up to 158 horsepower. The standard front-wheel drivetrain uses an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the available 4MOTION® all-wheel drive system is instead paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
To stay technologically advanced, it comes with a 6.5-inch touchscreen that offers Bluetooth® compatibility for audio streaming. Plus, you’ll be able to connect to Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ if you want to make calls, get directions, or play songs.
A number of interior comforts will also be found on this base level, including push-button start and cloth seats. Manual adjustments are standard for both the 6-way front seats and air conditioning.
VW Taos SE
The SE trim level will bring you some nice upgrades, including an 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support. Instead of cloth seats, you’ll enjoy the feel of CloudTex upholstery along with a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped gear shift knob.
Technology gets a boost as well, with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ becoming standard. There’s also a wireless phone charger so that you no longer need to remember a cord to attach your phone. Also standard are keyless entry and remote start, giving you increased convenience as you prepare for your commute.
In addition, this trim level comes with standard safety that was only available as an upgrade on the S trim. Here, you’ll have use of a standard Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert as well as Front Assist. Front Assist itself comes with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Pedestrian Monitoring for increased safety.
VW Taos SEL
The highest level of SEL will feature the most advanced systems, some of which may or may not be available as upgrades on the lower trim levels. For example, it offers standard rain-sensing windshield wipers. While you can find them on the lower levels, you’d need to purchase a separate package.
Some of its more exclusive features include the Climatronic® dual-zone automatic climate control system, leather seats, and interior ambient lighting. You’ll still find the 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, as well as keyless entry and remote start.
Another great advancement involves safety. Many features will already come standard, including Adaptive Cruise Control to use for highway commutes, and High Beam Control to use on dark roadways.
