Kids make messes. It comes with the territory despite the frustration it might cause. Still, you’ve got to remember: to your child, it’s all just play.

A child’s need for exploration is as big as their body is small. So, why not set them loose in a place where they can feed that desire? At the Utica Children’s Museum, they can explore to their heart’s content.

The Experience

It’s hard for a kid to just sit and watch something be done. They’re not hard-wired that way. To truly learn and enjoy themselves, they need to do.

The Utica Children’s Museum isn’t so much about looking as it is about touching and experiencing. It’s hands-on learning at its finest.

The Exhibits

Tons of great, new exhibits are coming to the Utica Children’s Museum. Here’s a little taste of what’s in the works…

The Sensory Exploration Zone

Kids require sensory stimulation. When they start bouncing off the walls or throwing tantrums, it’s likely because they’ve had either too little or too much.

The Sensory Exploration Zone will offer your child a fun and happy balance of stimulus. Here, they can play with water and sensory tables, sand, interactive wall panels, a mini trampoline, and more. They’ll be tuckered out in the best way!

Perios World

Consider this one a learning game. Your kids will encounter characters called Perios, each representing a different element on the periodic table. Through use of these blocks and puzzles, they’ll learn all the fundamentals of chemistry.

More to Come

While the Sensory Exploration Zone and Perios World are two of our favorites, we’re also working on a variety of other exhibits, including:

  • Trains
  • NASA & Space
  • Planes
  • History

It takes a fair amount of time and funding to get these exhibits off the ground, and none of it would be possible without the help of patrons and volunteers just like you. If you’d like to donate time or funds to help, you may do so here.
