Volkswagen Passat Trim Levels
When it comes to trim levels, the VW Passat keeps it simple with two choices: Wolfsburg and SE R-Line.
Wolfsburg Trim Level
With the VW Passat Wolfsburg trim, you’ll get a complete foundation of features, including the Volkswagen Car-Net® App-connect system that allows you to access apps that have been optimized for use with your infotainment system.
This includes Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™, which fully integrate your smartphone with your car, so that you have access to hands-free phone calls, texting, music streaming, and even navigation.
It also comes standard with smart safety features like Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking that uses sensors to monitor for unseen hazards up ahead. If necessary, it’ll issue an alert to slow down or even hit the brakes for you to try to avoid an impending collision.
SE R-Line Trim
The VW Passat SE R-Line trim level adds on to the standard safety features with systems like Park Pilot and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). ACC automatically adjusts your cruise control speed to a safe following distance when you approach slower-moving traffic on the highway.
You’ll also upgrade your infotainment system to the Volkswagen-exclusive 400-watt Fender® Premium Audio System that lets you turn up the volume on your favorite tunes. Meanwhile, the exterior trades-in the standard 17-inch wheels for sporty 19-inch ones.
2019 VW Passat MPG
The 2019 Volkswagen Passat MPG ratings are an EPA-estimated 25 MPG city and 36 MPG highway.1 This is achieved with a turbocharged 2.0L TSI engine that maximizes power, efficiency, and drivability. Total output for this engine is 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
This is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that optimizes your shift schedules to improve efficiency. However, if you want an even more dynamic experience, you can operate in Sport mode and enjoy smoother acceleration and enhanced steering control.
With available steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, you can take control of your shift schedules and change gears on-demand without taking your hands off the steering wheel.
Safety Features in the Volkswagen Passat
In addition to the Forward Collision Warning system and Adaptive Cruise Control, the VW Passat offers many other smart safety features to help you stay aware of your surroundings when on-the-go.
These systems include a standard Blind Spot Monitor that issues an alert when another car enters your side blind spots.
You’ll also have a Lane Keeping System available. This system monitors lane markings to provide a warning if you’re accidentally drifting from your lane of travel. A steering assist can also help to gently direct you back in line.
