VW Beetle: One Powerful Punch Bug
The 2018 Beetle adds a new, larger engine this year: a turbo 2.0L TSI I-4, which gives you up to 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. That engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, which offers Tiptronic® mode for more control and Sport mode for a more fun, accelerative ride.
The Beetle power output makes for a strong showing in the subcompact car class, and so does its smooth and refined ride. Whether you’re cruising down the open road or navigating stop-and-go traffic, you’ll find a cushioned ride, and steering weighted heavily enough to feel stable at fast speeds, yet maneuverable at low ones.
Striking Interior Style
Slide into the cabin of the VW Beetle, and you’ll find an attractive design with potential for customization. Cloth-trimmed seating comes standard, but you can upgrade to V-Tex leatherette upholstery for synthetic leather that combines the beauty of cloth seats with the soft comfort of real leather.
The Volkswagen Beetle retro-yet-modern look is enhanced by distinctive gauges on the instrument panel and an optional Käferfach glovebox, a nod to the past that sits above the main glovebox. Available ambient lighting completes the picture with a modern touch, and you can customize the color (blue, red, white) to match your mood.
An Iconic Exterior… Modernized
On the outside, the 2018 Beetle retains its iconic shape while adding the latest in tech, style, and function. Sport-style bumpers add a fresh and fun touch to the Beetle, and available Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights last longer, shine brighter, and use less energy. The optional 17- and 18-inch wheels add a sporty touch and really “pop” against the profile of this small, curvy car.
Another modern feature is the power tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, which exposes all four seating positions to fresh sunlight and air. On a nice day, everyone in the VW Beetle will appreciate access to the elements and a lighter, brighter ride.
